Thank you, Jeff. They’ve done a great job with that film and it’s so subtle now!

BTW, where did you grow up in Alabama? I grew up in Fairfield and then we moved to Hueytown when I was in high school. I seem to recall from earlier posts here that you have some connection to Hueytown, right? Or, maybe I’m misremembering. I moved away from Alabama after graduating from Auburn in the mid-nineties, living in several places before settling down in Chicago over two decades ago. Your pictures and stories capture life in the Deep South quite nicely (I very much miss living there). I look forward to your posts every week…keep up the good work…

Jeff, what an incredibly kind thing to write. I just saw it today and it brought me some joy--that's exactly what I'm trying to do!

I grew off Highway 78 (Arkadelphia exit) in Sandusky and Forestdale. My dad went to Minor, if that decodes for you, and we had a lot of friends in Adamsville and Crumley Chapel. But when I was 12, we moved WAY out closer to the Oak Groves mines--outside of Hueytown, in Concord, right off Warrior River Road (now Allison-Bonnett). I ended up going to Pleasant Grove and graduating there in '93--so you might have been right ahead of me!!
